Bowie Park Stables began officially in October, 2007 with our 3 horses and one boarder.  Jill came to us with Rowan (the official caller for BPS - above, left) before we started doing any improvements.  We had barely picked our farm name!  Since that time in October, here is a quick view of the projects we've completed and a list of future projects we'll be doing very soon!

  • New fencing (4,500 feet of it)!  Thanks to Reed Butler and Butler Fence - 615-812-0203, this was completed in 2 phases.  His workers did an amazing job and we look forward to the last phase in the fall to be completed!
  • Brand new 4 board arena (120 ft X 240 ft) as well as a 65 ft diameter 4 board round pen (with sand footing)!  Again, thank you Reed! Scroll down to see the picture!
  • We've added auto waterers to each pasture so there are no worries for anybody about ever running out...not that we ever had a problem with that!
  • Entry gate for BPS residents!  Just wait how pretty it will look after we landscape it!
  • Tack room security system!  Everyone can rest comfortably at night knowing their belongings are safely tucked away!
  • Hitching posts galore!  You'll never have to worry about finding a place to hitch your horse or pony!  They're everywhere!
  • New matted stalls (this was the only thing completed before Jill got here with Rowan...actually, it was finished 3 days after she arrived!)
  • All new lighting!  We've re-wired both barns and added lights (energy efficient) to each and every stall!
  • Arena lighting - OK, we did add some but it isn't enough.  No worries, the additional lighting will be installed June 28th and will be bright enough to light a football field on game day!
  • New run in shelter in the lake pasture - How many times can I thank Reed!!
  • We tripled the parking area and re-did the entire driveway...every bit of the 1/3 mile it is!  Thanks Gary Moore for doing it...and all of the things you did 'while you were here'!  931-670-3685
  • Paint, paint, paint!  It takes a lot of paint and time to do 4,500 ft of fencing.  Not to mention painting the barn, run in shelters and training pavillion in the arena!  Thank you to Tom Hamilton and his son Tom for doing such a great job!  615-293-9661
  • Hot wire!  Just in case it gets a bit rough out there in the pastures, it's in and it's live!  Thanks farmer Jack for the hookup!
  • Hot and cold water wash rack!  One of my favorites.  Farmer Jack is multi talented!  No need to have your favorite horse chilly with that water--make it cold, warm or hot...the choice is yours!
  • FANS - not the kind that loves the famous people, the kind that cools the kids!  Each stall in the main barn has been re-wired and we've installed the fans already.  No more sweaty horses!  The small barn gets it next!!!
  • All those cute tables, swings, signs and such deserve an honorable mention!  We thank the farmers wife for spending money so well!

 Now for the future projects...

  • Wash rack - yep, we need another...and we're putting it in!  This will be an outside cold water wash rack, but when it's 90 degrees outside, we think this will be fine!
  • Auto waterers in each stall!  The hard part is finished already, we're just waiting for the waterers to come in special order!  Should be early July for this one!
  • New fireplace to keep all of those hooves warm at night in the winter!  Why have 1 wood burning stove when you can have 2?  Farmer Jack will install this one in the fall!
  • Removal of the big red garage thing!  Practical, yes.  Sightly--NO!  It must go and will by next month!
  • We'll add more projects and welcome your suggestions!

Thank you the most to Jill and Rowan (an honorable mention to Mark) who have had a lot of patience while living through each and every project!  She believed that we'd do what we planned and as you can see above, we've got most of it done!  Thank you also to the rest of the BPS family who didn't know us from anyone else, yet had faith in us to take care of their kids!  We love each and every horse here and their humans alike!  You've all watched and helped us grow into a happy and successful family and you're all stuck with us forever!  Here's to safe rides and breaking rule #16!
